Please pardon the technical glitches at the beginning of the show. The show & recording proceed smoothly -- or as smoothly as usual -- after the first few minutes.

Today's show featured PegE (a.k.a. Dr. Elam) & Pat (a.k.a. the Queen) talking about the Los Angeles Times update on Arkansas's 2003 law aimed at reducing "childhood obesity" by -- among other actions -- implementing Body Mass Index (BMI) screenings for school children and sending the numbers home on report cards and letters.  A recent evaluation indicates that there has been no statistically significant change in Arksansas's children's physical activity, "healthy" eating, or BMI since the anti-"childhood obesity" programs went into effect. Changes in the incidence of eating disorders, body shame and fat stigma apparently were not assessed.

After the music break ("Fat Meat is Good Meat" by Kristie Agee), the show shifted to reporting & discussing facts on dietary and body fat from Connie Leas's 2008 book Fat: It's Not What You Think.
